Leo New Moon, 2024

Hi friends,
I hope you are all well!
As I’m sure everyone is aware, it’s been a really crazy month. The conjunction of Mars and Uranus was met almost exactly with the assassination attempt on Trump, and the shooter himself actually had a Mars/Uranus conjunction in his natal chart. (Coincidentally, maybe unsurprisingly, the US also has a Mars/Uranus conjunction in its chart.) Mars is now closing in on Jupiter in Gemini — they will meet on the 14th of August. I am hoping that this will mean a quick and surprising turn of good news, as opposed to the quick and surprising chaos.
On the 5th, we enter a Mercury retrograde period. Look to your own chart to see where it might effect you - the retrograde will begin in Virgo and move into Leo. It’s a time to take things slowly and really consider, and then reconsider, our words. It will last until pretty much the end of the month, at which point it will turn around and go over the same places for the third time, and we will need to put into action the things we have been considering.
This new moon is on Sunday, at 4am, and is happening in Leo. When making your moon wish on Sunday morning (any time between 4am and noon will be fine), wish for something that will put you into the center of things. A spotlight? An embrace? A community? Leo is ruled by the Sun, and will best hear our wishes for being celebrated and adored. As a new moon, remember that this is planting a seed, not reaping the harvest, so keep your wish in the future tense.
If you know your rising sign, you can look for inspiration in this list. This isn’t a guideline of what to wish for, I just want to encourage you to be curious about what comes up in your initial reaction to the questions. I hope it’s helpful.

Gemini - what’s going on in your neighborhood, in your polycule, at your sibling’s house?
Cancer - can you use any more resources? Maybe you need a boost in your own self evaluation?
Leo - how do you want to be seen?
Virgo - what’s going on with your mental health? Your relationship with self?
Libra - what’s going on in your community? In what ways do you want to expand or dive deeper into the groups of humans you already belong to?
Scorpio - how can you expand your career? What do you want to be known for this year?
Sagittarius - any travel plans? Any books on the shelf? New ideas to explore?
Capricorn - what do you need from your partners?
Aquarius - how can you be better held by your partners? How can you expand into those relationships, or do they need to expand to better hold you?
Pisces - how can you celebrate, appreciate, and love your physical self?
If your moon is in Leo, wish real big and wish for whatever you want.
I am, as promised, struggling again under this Pluto transit. If you are also struggling, I urge you to check out your chart to see if Pluto is your culprit. Do you have any placements in the first degree of a sign? If so, this will muddle on for the rest of the year, when we will learn our lesson and then move on to the Next Thing.
