Aquarius Full Moon, 2024

(Originally published on 8/19/2024)

Hi friends,

It’s an Aquarius full moon right now, as I write this! It will go exact at 11:26am, so if you’re going to make any wishes try to write them before the sun goes down today.

At the same time, we are leaving the Mercury cazimi - the moment during a retrograde when Mercury passes directly between us and the sun. It’s typically a time during a Mercury retrograde when we start to really understand the things that the retrograde has been having us reflect on. So in theory, you’ll already know what you need to wish for today. If you don’t, think about what you could wish for on behalf of your community. And remember to write that wish as if you have already received it!

There are a lot of tough alignments happening right now. Mars and Jupiter are conjunct, so I know there’s a few of us who feel like we’re fighting holy wars. This conjunction is flanked on both sides by Venus and Saturn, so we have a lot on the line here. Whatever it is that we are feeling righteous about, we’re getting a lot of pressure from the parts of our selves that use the word “should” a lot. And in turn, our values and affections are receiving that pressure. It’s possible that feelings, goals, and affections have changed over the course of the last week. If you have many placements, especially your rising sign, in “mutable signs”, (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces), you’re feeling the tension. It’s like having two demons and two angels on your shoulders, and they’re currently throwing punches.

In addition, Uranus is aspecting the sun/moon/mercury situation I’ve already mentioned. “Fixed” signs will be feeling this in particular. (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius). This full moon and cazimi will bring you more unexpected change than usual, especially if your rising sign is fixed.

Mercury will stay in retrograde until the 28th, so unless you are ready to say your piece today during the cazimi, maybe just sit with your thoughts until then.

On September 1st, Pluto will retrograde into Capricorn for the last time in our lifetimes. This last dip into Capricorn will last barely over two months, returning into Aquarius for good in mid-November. If he is going to mess with us, you’ll see it in the market. It’s possible he won’t mess with us, he might not have the time, but I think it’s fair to keep in mind that this is the last whimper of a 16 year transit that began with the 2008 financial crisis. I for one would not be playing the stock market, even if I had the extra cash to do it.

Sending you all love.

Alanna
