Aquarius New Moon, 2025

Hi friends,
On Wednesday, we have a new moon in Aquarius. It goes exact at 4:30 am pacific time, so the best time for rituals will be Wednesday morning or early afternoon.
The last week has been tough, to say it lightly. My hope is that this new moon will offer us some reprieve.
At the time of this new moon, she is having nice meeting with Jupiter, our god of luck and abundance. Jupiter himself is standing still at the end of his retrograde journey, preparing to turn around again in the sky to come back to a forward motion. This is good for us! This means that he will regain some ability that he has lacked since October, and he has the opportunity to use his power to sow this moon with hope.
Jupiter is visible in the night sky these days, by the way. After sunset, look high in the sky to the east. And you can see Venus too - look to the west. She is currently near her longest distance from the sun, so she is very bright for us right now. They are two of the brightest things we can see in the sky.
Speaking of Venus, she has been in a rough spot. Even though she is in Pisces, where she is loved and adored, and even at her farthest point from the sun where she has the most power, she has been having to hang out with Saturn. And from 1/18 to 1/25, she was pinned between him and an aspect from Mars.
To put that last paragraph in another way, everything we like and enjoy about life has recently been given harsh lessons and flashbacks from our past. Our values are being tested, and our resolve is thin. When Venus is pinned between the two malefics (Saturn and Mars) in the way that she has been, the things we hold dear are endangered and feel fragile. With Mars in retrograde as he is now, he is throwing in a lot of worry about the past, making us doubt ourselves and the decisions we have made.
Thankfully, Venus is moving out of that configuration for now. But the reprieve is short. Soon she will meet up with Neptune, who will throw us another round of confusion, and then she will begin her retrograde on March 1st.
That date seems a ways away, since I usually write letters that concern the next couple of weeks, but Venus has already entered her retrograde shadow. What that means for us is that whatever you begin now in regards to your relationships and values, you will have to consider again and again as she moves through the same set of degrees in the sky three times. And in that time she will again meet Neptune, Saturn, and Mars.
So it’s a really good time to delete your dating apps. It might also be a good time to put some creative focus on an old project.
I keep saying that I’ll share with y’all more about these outer planets moving into their new signs this year. But I find that this is such a big topic and it’s intimidating. I guess I will get to them when I get to them. In the meantime, I’m wondering if any of you want to share any stories that have come from your life surrounding these planets in the last few years. I can write some prompts if anyone is interested in that project. I’d love to see what we come up with!
I think I’ve already written too much now so I’ll write you some moon wish prompts and be done. Remember that this is a new moon, so we are starting something new, or wishing for the beginning of a new chapter in an old story. Try to write down your wish as a letter to the moon, thanking her, and telling her how receiving her blessings will feel. Within ten hours after the new moon, read that letter out loud and really feel into it. I think you’ll get everything you ask for.
If your moon in your natal chart is in Aquarius you should go big and ask for anything. For everyone else, these prompts are by rising sign.

Taurus: What do you need in your career? What do you need other people to think of when they think of you?
Gemini: What do you need to learn? Do you need to find a teacher? Maybe you need to buy a plane ticket? Ask!
Cancer: What are you owed? What do you need your partners to provide for you?
Leo: It’s not the time to be looking for a new partner, but if there is something that you need in partnership, it’s time to ask for it.
Virgo: What does your body need? What do you need in order to show up at your place of work? Ask for it.
Libra: What do you need in order to feel some pleasure? What could get you going on a creative project?
Scorpio: What do you need at home? What about in your relationships to the people you share your home with?
Sagittarius: What do you need in your relationships with your siblings, neighbors, or metamours? Do you need some help communicating something?
Capricorn: What resources do you need? What would help you support yourself?
Aquarius: This is all about you. Who do you want to show up as this year?
Pisces: What can you ask for that would benefit your mental health? Is there anyone you need to settle a grudge with?
